FOR HOME & GARDEN

January 7, 2019

I'm starting the new year off with a fresh slate so to speak. My studio space at home is purged, organized and once again a FUN and creative place for me to be. Nothing frustrates me more than not being able to find something! I'm usually quite organized and everything has a spot. Not so in these "before" pictures you may have seen posted on Facebook a few months ago...

cute orange table and all I see is my FILING mess

AFTER PICS

It's nice to able to walk in the door and love my surroundings. My hubby hardwired the lampshade light over a work stand that my brother made me in the 70s for my giant microwave in my first apartment.  I tend to keep rustic things with memories for a LONG time.  The hutch was also a gift from my brother which as pictured he used in his garage for paint cans.  Had to have it dipped to remove all the old paint stains.  It's been a TV cabinet, linen storage and found its way to my "corner" almost 20 years ago.  I still love this piece and all the storage it offers. (Nope! don't even ask, it will never be for sale 😁)

Even my wastebasket is cute! A discard
of my Aunt's she decoupaged with travel clippings...

everything out of the closet
for a good vacuum!

Although my bulletin board and what I call my idea string look messy, everything there speaks to me in some way. Some of you will recognize cards and art creations that you've given me over the years. They are valued! and continue to inspire.

This basket and the windows are calling my name
and will be coming together in some fashion soon
these signs say it all...and this one from old magazine letters has hung outside of every shop space that I've had.  It rests in my studio these days and will be my mantra for 2019 ~recycle ~ refurbish ~ repurpose ~ reinvent   BEING ORIGINAL & NOTEWORTHY is always the goal Now it's time to just roam and rummage through all the piles of "junk" and let my right brain spin.  HAPPY NEW YEAR! Find your JOY and savor it.    anita
