FOR HOME & GARDEN

June 11, 2025

Just another of the reasons I feel blessed to be part of this occasional market.  The mission speaks to my heart . . .

The Copper Nickel is a one-of-a-kind retail artisan store where craftsmanship, creativity, and community come together. We showcase a curated mix of vintage, handcrafted, repurposed treasures—from timeless home décor to inspired artisan wares.

At the heart of the store is our Market Pantry, offering farm-fresh proteins, small-batch baked goods, preserves, and other locally sourced delights.

Whether you're hunting for a story-filled piece or wholesome pantry staples, The Copper Nickel is where old meets new in the most meaningful way.

EXCITED for Checkered Corner
 to open June 19-22 at
The Copper Nickel
in Webster Wisconsin

Will be posting photos here throughout the coming days so watch for updates.  Even love the cruddy old garage on the property.  Makes for a great backdrop for product photos as I unload the truck and haul goods into the new shop space.

Outside is getting ready with a fresh coat of paint on the front
and a new sign on the road

FIRST SATURDAY MARKET

What a great way to kick off spring — at least here in Texas the weather is fine 😎 Did a spin thru the Wimberley Market over
the weekend which is always FUN for me and an easy way to do over 10,000 steps while not knowing it. Bonus! Only 16 miles from my house. Double Bonus!

With a full latte and an empty grocery cart with straps & bags ready I headed in the gates before 9am. Five trips to the car, thus the steps, and by noon I was heading home for lunch. If I didn’t have to worry about how to get all my treasures back to Wisconsin, I would unload and go back to fill er up again. Love the vibe and great live music scattered around. Lots of folks sippin & shoppin. Not me! I’m focused.  Seeking 😁 unique finds for my house here and Checkered Corner there. (More on potential WI opening later)  Next season my pickup & trailer will no doubt make a couple pickin trips.

But for now here are a couple pics of picks

Every booth has its
own character

And OF COURSE you can pick up a
pair of boots!

And fresh flowers. I had never
seen a Crown of Thorns plant.
Gorgeous!

Lots of vendors use the trees out back of their space like this one.

If I had to choose a favorite from the day it would be this vintage life ring…and in one of my my fav colors

You know I love little drawers to PLAY
with. Scored several. This old picket
fencing is awesome. There were actually
three sections over 12’ each

A nice morning haul. I always forget about leaving room for the folding cart!

Stopped for a celebratory lunch at a fav spot in Wimberley too…

Love the phrase wall! I’ve never done this on
such a large scale. May need to.
Gets bigger every time I stop in.
