SETTING UP! Started unloading the trailer at the shop.  Can't wait for spring weather to arrive to get it all together. Due to COVID-19 it appears that I won't be able to open until late May...
but I'll be READY!

Okay, in my world this is also a holiday... get the board out and PLAY today.  For most of us this year that may need to be WORDs WITH FRIENDS online while we shelter in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.  That counts!!

STAY SAFE & WELL!

A winter escape to Florida was shortened by COVID-19.  With "shelter in place" restrictions looming we packed up and came back to the lake in Wisconsin.  Will quarantine here and see what the future holds.  For now, Checkered Corner will not open its doors in April.  Hoping for May 1st.  
Keep you posted and will keep creating until then.

A little FUN in the sun before the virus attack...

AND A LITTLE WORK IN THE SUN on a disaster relief mission trip to Panama City FL.  Along with a group of Minnesota folks from our old church, we worked on several projects for homeowners still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Michael in Oct 2018.  A very rewarding experience and so glad we were able to complete this mission before the travel restrictions.  We left behind some happy homeowners!

Time to grow brought a new storefront for Checkered Corner in Hermantown Minnesota in what used to be a florist shop and greenhouse.  This venue turned out to be such a FUN and creative spot to create and display!

I was also able to hold some classes in this space which was a fun addition

The snow is swirling outside and I'm longing for something GREEN! I'd rather be sipping on a porch like in this great print 
but for now I'm grabbing a stack of magazines with my cup and dreaming of flowers in bloom 
 

YES! I'm a hoarder of many things including rusty door hardware and DEFINITELY favorite magazines.  Some things for me are just timeless.
